about

This cottage-core, post-rock anthem is dedicated to the soft moss that blooms in the depths of winters gloom, my crackling wood-stove (which you can hear on this track), my little red-brick cottage sanctuary (on the cover art), and all the little other pieces of comfort and hope which bloom from the depths of heartbreak, hardship and suffering. Especially the dandelion.

I illustrated the album art many years ago to show my experience practicing the "tree of life" meditation, which only worked for me once I realized that I was a dandelion not a tree. Dandelions are my symbol because they grow in broken, polluted modern soils, crack concrete, dig their roots deep and persist through all attacks on them; only to continue to repair soils, provide medicine to people and animals as well as feed bee's and my own hope of flourishing in an industrialized modern wasteland. They represent all that I value most in this world.

Cottage Jam was the first looping track I wrote in an attempt to break my soft folk song-writing habits and was named by Lachie Chomley of "The Seal Prince and The Roof Rats". I embraced some of my solistalgic angst and heartbreak at the time. I used to play this with my full band but I've decided to release the track as its original solo looped form, to honor its origins.

Please enjoy on any streaming platform you use and please let me know if this track resonates with you!!
