And then we would spend the summer nesting inside hollow trees, and then my split halves would curl towards the sun just like leaves. We’re just like leaves, you and me. We’re just like leaves:
A heart full of love just like a seed must burst to sprout, its halves must be cleaved by the yearning of growth as they swell to lift their faces towards the warmth of the radiant sun.
